Here is a before and after of putting the ties back after the track is installed. Cutting off the tie plates first so they fit under the metal rail connectors. No glue is need because once the ballast is glued down they will not go anywhere.

Installed a DCC circuit breaker on my railroad. Cheap insurance against a short. Especially as I am about to start on the more complicated wiring from here on out.
