Got a start on the first piece of raised terrain for the layout. The dairy farm will be on one of the raised hill corners.
First I made a paper template then used it to transfer it to a used piece of foam. Next I will take it outside and begin to contour the foam to my liking. My HO DC Big Boy came in the mail today. It was super cheap because it does not run. Going to l use it as a display piece in the roundhouse anyway.
Got some parts to glue on and together. Also needs a tail light and numbers for the front end. I got this from a guy that works in a hospital so i made sure to clean it with gloves and alchohol before bringing it in the house just encase. Not to worried about myself but Jen's Mom lives with us so better safe than sorry. Some day I hope to get a working DCC one of # 4014 or 4023! By far the easiest build on this RR.
With no end of the quarentine in site i used some of the extra time to build the bumpers that are just four parts each. The pictures below and view of the instruction makes is easy. These fit great for HO code 83 track All that is left is some final sanding and some paint. With everything closed down and nowhere to go I used the extra time to paint and assemble this little wood log cabin kit my wife got. It is the first time I have ever installed miniature shingles and I got to say i prefer it over the real thing. LOL |
