Took the railroad spike and drilled two holes through it, then took some extra R2 feet parts, aka metal tubes and made some standoff for it about an inch and 1/4th long. Real easy to make and no welding to do. Also two washers between the metal tubes and wood for support.

Our 3rd and final clue on what the new train station project is, is in this update picture. From here we will have to wait for some coin to come back in the coffers to finish it. In the meantime the coming hot days will let me know if I got the aluminum attached to tight or not if it warps a little.
Free plans will be available when finished! If you would like to help out our Patreon is https://www.patreon.com/Moosesworkshop Usually i don't say which big box store I am getting some small item at but today I will. After filling in the scratches and screw holes from the map and lamp I went to Menards to color match a paint sample from the train station shed. The rude lady said it can not be done due to the material the paint sample was on and would not come up the right color. I knew she was lying as I have done paint samples on the same material in the past. Maybe she thought I was dumb because I am deaf or just did not like my speech to text app. Finally after almost 5 minutes I had to say I would go get the manager if she did not do it. She did it but with dirty looks, I just smiled. Low and behold the mixture came out exactly as my paint sample. She rudely handed me the paint and I said "See, us painters know what we are talking about." I smiled and turned to leave. She did not realize my text to speech was still on after I turned away to leave. Lets just say she probably be fired if I showed it to the manager what she said... So after touching up the bondo areas you can't tell where they were already. Still got a second coat to put on tomorrow. We have a new train station project we are going to do as soon as we get the funds! We are going to share for FREE the plans for this one as well! Should have enough for this one in two months as we save up personally, and get some Patreon funds as well. If you would like to help out our Patreon is https://www.patreon.com/Moosesworkshop
We moved the UP map to the short side of the building so we can use the whole front right side for this project! With some more used lumber and a couple of hinges I put a drop down tailgate/ramp on the trailer for my friend. Put a coat of paint on everything and it will look good!
Traded some labor with a friend. Taking a trailer he got and making it usable again.
With some used lumber that we both had I made a better floor and some quickly removable sides. |
