Using some older recycled 2x4s that have been acclimating for over a month in the workshop for over a month, I cut them to 36 inches and then cut them in half. I then did a modified version of the setup on the left to drill centered holes in the bottom of the legs for adjustable feet. Once together I brought the legs inside so the can acclimate again for a few weeks before installing them.
Clearing a storage room most of the way out, except for the Tardis console which I have to find another place for, the first thing that needs done is updating the sub-par electrical and lights. There was a junction box where their should not have been one and a light fixture that did not have one. It all needed sorting out. With such low ceilings the best option to not hit our heads was to used recessed cans with LEG bulbs. Stringing the new wires the proper way. with all five new can lights. Next it is drywall, taping and joint compound. Before and after the first coat. Lots of popped nails, paint drips, and tears to fix as well.
Before and after the first coat. With some more used lumber and a couple of hinges I put a drop down tailgate/ramp on the trailer for my friend. Put a coat of paint on everything and it will look good!
With it being winter and snow already on the ground, the ride-a-top outdoor railroad project is on hold till spring of 2020. Still having the bug to build some train stuff we have decided to build an HO SCALE Model Railroad during the slow winter months and rainy spring days. We will have posts on bench work, wiring, model building, and much more! To see just these posts click on the "HO Scale Railroad" category link to the left of this page!
We will still be posting other project updates and repairs as well! |
