After just a year we are already tired of carrying our trains by hand to the track so we are making a dolly to transport the heavy loads too and from the workshop and the track. This project is easily made for $50 or less and we will show you how. Once we are done we will make plans available as well.
Here is a simple and cheap project to dress up your railroad; a metal whistle sign. Using some scrap metal shelving I cut out the sign's rectangular shape then rounded the corner. Stripping the old paint off with a grinder and sander I then painted it white and added the W. To make the vinyl W last longer I clear coated the sign faces.
With the newly laid ballast down and a few days of rain over with. The final tamping of the ballast has begun.
Was having problems with this gondola derailing due to the tightness of the turn so I lightened up the frame in the areas it was making contact. It worked great for light passengers but big adults would actually flex the frame and make it derail that way. So soon I will rip out the whole frame and replace it with a metal one.
